I received my bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Colorado Boulder. I began tutoring math as a sophomore in high school in courses ranging from Elementary Algebra through AP Calculus BC and Calculus 3. As an undergraduate, I was a Calculus 2 Learning Assistant (LA) and I tutored at the Math Academic Resource Center (MARC). While I was an LA, I took a math and science education course in which I learned about effective educational methods and pedagogical theories. As a tutor at the MARC, I helped students in a wide variety of courses: anything from Quantitative Reasoning to upper-division math courses. Since graduating, I have tutored both privately and for tutoring companies, including BuffTutor and Varsity Tutors. As of Fall 2023, I have tutored a combined total of over 1355 hours for over 80 different students.
Outside of tutoring, I was part of the Visualizing Number Theory project through the math department at CU Boulder. I received two 4-year merit-based scholarships, and in my senior year, I received the Massaro and Pratto Scholarship in Mathematics. I am also a member of the Pi Mu Epsilon math honor society and the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society. I graduated from CU Boulder in 2018 with Distinction.
I attended UC Davis for graduate school between 2020 and 2023. I gained extensive teaching experience both as a Teaching Assistant (21ABC) and as an Associate Instructor (16A, 21B) while in the PhD program. I also received the Henry L. Alder Prize for Excellence in Teaching in 2022.
