“Sharon is an exceptional tutor! She is patient and thorough in her explanations. During each session, she provides a clear set of notes that we work through together, which I can later use for reference. Sharon takes the time to explain each concept in detail and always checks for understanding before moving on. Her thoughtful, step-by-step approach was a large factor in my success with upper-division math. I often feel confused in fast-paced math classes, so having a resource where I can ask questions in a slower-paced environment is incredibly helpful to my learning. Math has always been my weakness, but Sharon’s style of teaching makes daunting and difficult concepts more approachable and easier to understand. “Without Sharon’s help, I would have still been struggling to pass my calculus courses. I do not have the strongest foundation in calculus and struggled with learning and grasping the concepts. That being said, Sharon was extremely patient in helping me understand and retain the information, and I always felt reassured and never judged for what I did and didn’t know. “Sharon saved my quarter from being a brutal experience with Calc 2. I had previous tutors that just weren’t working out for me, but Sharon was very patient, flexible and helpful. I wish I had found Sharon when the quarter started, instead of around week 5 but I was able to improve my grade and take her tips to future classes.What worked is that she connected my questions to other problems I might have overlooked, made clear notes to review after, and she never made me feel bad or expected me to know topics that I might have learned in a previous math class. “Sharon is a grad student instructor whom I recently took for MAT 21B. Very clear lectures and clear grading criteria. She also gives good responses to questions without revealing the solution. She gave weekly quizzes, no midterms, and a final exam. She let us have note sheets which was a little too op but overall she really prepared me for MAT 21C.”

She also always made sure that I fully understood each problem before moving on to the next one. I especially appreciated how she would make graphs and diagrams of what exactly was going on behind the mathematical concepts so that it would be easier for me to comprehend. I was seriously struggling with my analysis class for the first month of the semester, but once I started working with her everything changed and I can confidently say I would not have passed my class without her help. Even though we only met once a week for an hour, it was clear that she put hours of work into reviewing specific problems and topics before each meeting, which I was so impressed with and it really helped so much. Sharon takes so much pride in her work and she sincerely cared about how well I did. She is obviously very VERY intelligent and knew so much about math that extending well beyond analysis. They are very well written out and she has really good handwriting (for all of those who can’t stand professors who don’t know how to write legibly). Rather than just tell you how to do the problems, she explains each step thoroughly and why it is important in order to get the correct answer. Lastly, she is very affordable compared to other tutors.”
